Barre

Barre is an up-and-coming workout style that combines ballet, yoga and pilates to create an intense fatigue in the muscles. Typically, this is done with a dancer’s bar, but can be done with a chair or no equipment at all.

What is a virtual barre class online?

This may seem a bit counterintuitive, since the name of this workout style insinuates the need for a studio environment. But actually the opposite is true: barre workouts require minimal equipment and can be done from the comfort of your home.

What equipment do I need?

Barre workouts from home don’t require any equipment. You can create your “bar” from a chair, desk, or even a wall. If you do want to make sure you’re 100% prepared, here’s what we suggest.

  • Yoga mat
    There will likely be floor work during this type of session, so having a yoga mat will make you comfortable and help you avoid slipping.
